A variety of annual events include a Jazz Crawl, Blues Crawl, Music Fest, Moonlight Car Show, Cinco de Mayo, Winefest Walkabout, Summer Concert Series, Taste of Old Town. The Clifton Square Shopping Village, is a collection of shops in a 19th century village.

Wichita is an aircraft manufacturing center, and the Kansas Aviation Museum honors pioneers in the field, as well as housing model planes. The Museum of American Fan Collectors has the most comprehensive collection of air-moving devices in the world.

The Museum of World Treasures is one of Kansas' sought after attractions with dinosaurs, Egyptian and Roman treasures. Other points of interest include two mummies, a Sports Museum, and an American Presidents collection, and Civil War, WW I and II exhibits. Sedgwick County has 2,700 animals in eight major, naturalistic exhibits including the new Pride of the Plains lion exhibit.

The recreated village at the Old Cowtown Museum brings the past alive. The city's Museum of Ancient Treasures has a wide variety of features including everything from a baseball signed by Joe DiMaggio to a shrunken head. The Indian Center Museum features works by Plains Indian artists.

The Exploration Place is a hands-on exhibit related to flight, health, Kansas, and imaginative spaces. Visitors can experience high-tech interactive shows giving kids more insights into aviation and other scientific wonders. For nature and wildlife, Botanica's beautiful gardens are a pleasant sight. The Sedgwick County Zoo is home to over 350 species of animals.
